Bustard Road Bridge

Monday, July 6, 2015

The Bustard Road Bridge, spanning the Pa Turnpike, was reopened this week, on Tuesday June 30th.  The Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company would like to thank our neighboring companies and departments for their invaluable assistance during the closure so that we could ensure a prompt and efficient response to emergencies.

During the closure, from July 14, 2014 through June 30, 2015, Towamencin VFC automatically used the services of every neighboring fire company to make sure there was no loss of response to our residents.  The residents may have seen a variety of fire apparatus in town alongside the Towamencin firefighters.  By having this automatic aid, based on location, TVFC made sure the necessary equipment and manpower was available on every call.

We are grateful for the cooperation of The Pa Turnpike Commission, the Allan A Myers construction company, the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, and our understanding township residents who made every effort to continue to support our activities and fund raising events.

Welcome Back to the neighborhood!
