The final event to be held at the Hatfield Speedway was the annual Fire Prevention Week demonstration of the Fifth District Firemen’s Assn. in October, 1966. More than 250 firefighters from 23 units extinguished fires and demonstrated firefighting procedures. A crowd of 1200 enjoyed the thrilling events on the warm October evening before the popular racetrack faded into history.
